Biography
Dr. Nia Imani Bodrick MD, MPH, FAAP is a nationally recognized board certified General Pediatrician at Children's National Hospital and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at George Washington University School of Medicine. She also holds an appointment as Affiliate Faculty at the Center for Community Resilience at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University. She has practiced clinically in Washington, DC for over a decade and is passionate about early childhood mental health and development, nutrition education, trauma informed care and building thriving equitable communities.
As Co-Director of the Early Childhood Innovation Network (ECIN), she leads a local collaborative of health and education providers, community based organizations, researchers and advocates partnering to strengthen childhood and family well being and equitable health systems in Washington, DC.
She is Immediate Past President of the District of Columbia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (DCAAP). In 2024, Dr. Bodrick was named an Aspen Institute Ascend Fellow. Dr. Bodrick is committed to ensuring healthy outcomes for children and their families—particularly in historically marginalized communities. With nearly 15 years of experience, she brings critical expertise in early childhood mental health, childhood obesity prevention and community resilience building.
